About
A manufacturing company that happens to build software
Amplab exists to give small and mid-sized factories the data backbone they never got — and then the AI that only becomes possible once that backbone holds.
Mission
Small and mid-sized manufacturers carry a disproportionate amount of a country's production and almost none of its data infrastructure. The result is an industry full of hard-won expertise that disappears when a shift ends or a veteran retires.
Our mission is to make the record automatic. A factory should accumulate its own memory simply by running, and that memory should be structured well enough that intelligence can be built on it — not next year, but as it accrues.
How we work
Specifics over adjectives
We talk in yield, uptime and unit cost, not in 'innovative AI'. If a claim cannot be measured, we do not make it.
We aim to be graduated from
Success is a factory that can operate its own system without us. We stay as an operating partner until that is true — not longer.
The order we build in
Backbone (ontology) → flow (pipeline) → intelligence (AI and automation). Every engagement follows that order, because AI built before the backbone is debt that comes due the first time someone asks the model to explain itself.
