Manufacturing AI, rooted on the floor

The data backbone of the factory floor, and the AI on top of it

In one paragraph

Amplab builds the data backbone for small and mid-sized manufacturers, then puts AI on top of it. We start with PANTL Starter, a subscription MES/ERP where simply running the factory accumulates clean, structured data, and grow into PANTL Pro, which connects scattered enterprise data and pairs it with specialized AI agents. We look for the answer on the line, not in the meeting room.

01The Problem

Why manufacturing AI stalls after the pilot

Most factory AI fails for structural reasons, not modeling ones. Three of them come up on nearly every floor we walk.

01

Software that covers the floor instead of reading it

Systems layered on top of the shop floor end up hiding the process rather than recording it. What is never recorded cannot be improved, and cannot be learned from later.

02

AI without an ontology is debt

When equipment, process, material and defect mean different things in different systems, a model's answer cannot be verified. Every new question forces the pipeline to be rebuilt from scratch.

03

Deployment is the start, not the end

A pilot that works once is not an operation. Lines change, products change, people change — a system that cannot absorb that decays within months.

02How Amplab Works

Backbone, then flow, then intelligence

We build in a fixed order: define the vocabulary, make the data flow into it as a byproduct of running the factory, and only then put AI on top. Skipping a step is what produces AI that nobody trusts.

  1. Ontology

    Backbone

Equipment, process, material, defect and order are defined once, in one shared vocabulary, so the same word means the same thing across every line and system.

  2. Pipeline

    Flow

PLC, sensor and manual input flow into that vocabulary continuously — without adding work for the operator. Running the factory is what produces the data.

  3. AI · Automation

    Intelligence

Agents that answer from the data, and automation that acts on it. Because the backbone holds, every answer can be traced back to the record that produced it.

03Products

Start light, grow into it

Two products on one growth path. PANTL Starter accumulates the data; PANTL Pro connects and uses it.

PANTL Starter

A subscription MES/ERP where simply running the factory accumulates data

  • Minimal input burden on the floor — recording is part of the work, not extra to it
  • A standard schema for equipment, process, material, defect and order from day one
  • Subscription pricing, sized for a first small-scale adoption
Product details

PANTL Pro

(formerly LinePro)

Connects scattered enterprise data and pairs it with specialized AI agents

  • Connects existing ERP / MES / spreadsheet data instead of replacing it
  • Ontology mapping so the same term means the same thing across systems
  • AI agents specialized per process, answering from the factory's own record
Product details

Factory X

Consulting and custom build for what a product cannot cover

  • Diagnosis on the floor before a line of code is written
  • Custom development on the same ontology, so it does not become an island
  • For factories whose requirements are genuinely their own
Product details

Adopt Starter on a small scale, let the data build, then extend into Pro when the factory is ready. Factory X sits above both, for requirements a product cannot cover.

04Why We're Different

A typical AI vendor vs. Amplab

The difference is not the model. It is what we build first, and how long we stay.

05Industries

Where we work

The backbone is the same; the vocabulary is not. We adapt the ontology to how each industry actually defines a defect, a lot and a run.

Food

Lot traceability, hygiene records and shelf-life constraints as first-class data, not paperwork after the fact.

Automotive

Part-level traceability and tight tolerance control across a supply chain that audits you.

Industrial

Mixed-model, small-batch lines where the process changes faster than any static system can follow.

Chemical

Batch and recipe data tied to equipment condition, where a deviation has to be explainable.

Beauty

Fast SKU turnover and outsourced production, where the data crosses company boundaries.

06Founder's Mission

We look for the answer on the floor

The best manufacturing decisions we have seen were not made in a meeting room. They were made standing next to a line, by someone who could see what was actually happening — and who had the record to prove it.

Most small and mid-sized factories are not short on expertise. They are short on the record. Our job is to give the floor its memory back, so the people who already know the answer can prove it, repeat it, and hand it on.

We measure ourselves on one thing: whether the factory can eventually run it without us.

07FAQ

Questions we get asked

What does Amplab do?
Amplab builds the data backbone for small and mid-sized manufacturers and puts AI on top of it. We provide PANTL Starter, a subscription MES/ERP that accumulates structured data simply by being used, and PANTL Pro, which connects scattered enterprise data and pairs it with specialized AI agents.
What is PANTL Starter?
PANTL Starter is a subscription MES/ERP for small and mid-sized factories. It is designed so that running the factory — recording an order, a run, a defect — is what accumulates clean, structured data, with no separate data-entry project.
What is PANTL Pro?
PANTL Pro (formerly LinePro) is a hybrid system that connects data already scattered across ERP, MES and spreadsheets, maps it onto one ontology, and pairs it with AI agents specialized for the factory's own processes.
Which factories is this for?
Small and mid-sized manufacturers, including food, automotive, industrial, chemical and beauty production. Starter suits factories with little or no existing system; Pro suits factories that already have systems but cannot connect them.
Can it run on-premise?
Yes. PANTL Pro is designed as a hybrid, so factories that cannot send production data outside the plant can run it on-premise.
Can government programs cover part of the adoption cost?
Often, yes. Korean small and mid-sized manufacturers frequently fund adoption through government programs such as smart-factory support and service vouchers. Eligibility, documents and deadlines differ by program and by season — tell us your situation and we will walk you through the current one.
